Kunti n me...it's been quite sum time that I shared with everyone. Kunti is the name of my maid but she is the face of every maid in our houses. Someone we really can't do without...

Kunti is now happily three months old and I must say its a relationship I am enjoying the most right now. Yes, would like to call it one coz I am investing so much of my head into it.

Kunti has her own story... She was last working with the missionaries and i guess has learnt the art of giving with love from there. The love she didnt receive from her parents so she joined the missionaries as a help at a tender age of 13.she says she felt most loved and taken care of with them. The sisters have not only taught her to carry herself with grace but also an art of embroidery  (her degree to do more with life) besides giving a beautiful smile while serving however tired she may be. I am learning from her each day. Her biggest joy is eating her rice, a walk in the evening, a little trip to the local market and yes Mithai.:)))

I wonder do we need much to be really really happy:))

Kuntiiii....

Kunti is my help since last one month..n her CV is stronger than mine.she started working at the age of 13 n must be now 27 ..as she guesses. So she is a help from Raipur, chattisgarh..rather a village still far from there, but has travelled to Mumbai, Bhopal, ambikapur,n many more places.. After working for many years, with the sisters of the church, where she says she felt most loved, she learnt taking care of special children, cooking, cleaning, sewing n needle work.

Took a break for three years to take care of her ailing father and after him her younger brother. As she puts it, ek bar shehar main rehne ki Aaadat no gayi na Didi, toh gaon main achcha nahi lagta. So she thought of taking up a house help job.

Some more of her ..coming up...

People think they cannot do without food, water, shelter, love, and the works... But I bet in today's times the one thing that surpasses every other need..is a maid.. Our most important one. The amount of interaction, time and energy invested in that relationship being a happy and forever part of our lives parallels nothing.

Is she coming today? What time? Is she in a bad mood? Will she do this extra work?is her family ok?what if I make her eat well? This is not to gain good karma or be a nicer person...just making sure that she doesn't ditch you for someone else... Insecurities I must say..

Yes, not only women but men agree too, that their partners hormones and the peace at home is to a large extent dependant on their house help...:))))

Kunti and me...is a journey I am starting, to share stories of all the house helps that we have had..the good, bad , ugly... N happy times. I cannot deny that we have all shared such a space where we have learnt, let go and lived..

Kunti is my current help and the inspiration behind starting this blog..

Hoping to read, laugh and learn to this seemingly small but actually the most important part of our lives..
